At the end of October I joined the International Society at Aberdeen on a two-day trip to the Isle of Skye off the West Coast of Scotland. Most of Saturday was spent getting to the island itself but we stopped at Kyle of Lochalsh briefly and at Claigan Coral Beach before heading to the hostel in Portree.
The coral beach looks from a distance like a nice sandy beach like the ones you would find further south. If it hadn’t been a rainy overcast Scotland day you would have thought you were in the Mediterranean. The beach isn’t actually made of coral but of petrified seaweed.
